A Spooky Pair of Kids Crafts for Halloween

Halloween is nearly here, and we just love any excuse to whip out the craft box and have fun with the kids!

Here are two easy, fun, and affordable craft projects your kids will love this Halloween.

Paper Plate Spiders

Why not add a little colour to your Halloween crafts with these bright and funky paper plate spiders!

What you’ll need:

  • Paper plates
  • Craft glue
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Googly eyes
  • Permanent marker
  • Pom poms
  • Any other fun craft items you’d like!

Method:

  1. Grab your paper plate and flip it upside down.
  2. Take eight pipe cleaners and, bending each one to a 90 degree angle, stick them to the back of your plate with four on each side to create legs. Tip - If your craft glue doesn’t hold them in place, try sticky tape!
  3. Once dry, flip your plate over.
  4. Using your craft glue, place 4-6 small dollops of glue where you would like your spiders eyes to be.
  5. Press down your googly eyes into the glue and wait to dry.
  6. Using your permanent marker, draw on your spider's mouth.
  7. Now the fun part! Using your craft glue and any pom poms, glitter, and sequins you’d like, create funky patterns and designs on your spider’s body. You can get as creative as you’d like!

Ghost Lollipops

For the craft lover on the go! These fast and easy ghost lollipops are a fun way to get your Halloween candy looking spooky this weekend.

What you’ll need:

  • Lollipops
  • Paper towels
  • Elastic bands
  • Permanent marker

Method:

  1. Cut your paper towels up into four smaller pieces. Tip - Instead of scissors, you can fold and tear with your hands to create a more authentic ghostly look!
  2. Wrap your paper towel around the top of the lollipop and secure it with your elastic bands around the base.
  3. Using your permanent marker, draw on your ghost faces! Remember, the ink will bleed on tissue, so use your marker sparingly.

And there you have it! Your lollipops are ready to get spooky.

Happy Halloween!
