Frequently asked questions
There are many benefits to using a TV unit in any living room and they come in a wide variety of styles so it’s easy to find one that complements your existing interior aesthetic. TV units are designed to take up minimal floor space while providing ample storage so they help you save space and organise your things with ease. Versatile designs mean that TV units can often be used as shelves and cabinets to store and display other items such as books, DVDs, CDs, toys or keepsakes.
The best place for a TV unit is often the living room, however a TV unit can be utilised in almost any room of the house to support a TV, or other items. It’s important to consider the size and layout of the room and take into account the viewing angle to reduce eye strain and sources of lighting to avoid reflecting glare. The TV unit should be placed in a location that works well with your other pieces of furniture in the room, such as sofas, armchairs, and side tables.
Start by considering the overall style of the room including the colours, patterns and materials of the room and furniture in the room like sofas, chairs, tables, and shelves. While you don’t need to buy a matching TV unit, it helps to weave through common elements from your existing furniture when deciding on the TV unit you want to add to your living spaces. Don't forget to accessorize your TV unit with things like plants, vases, and artwork to make it look more cohesive with the rest of the room.
The first thing to choosing the right size TV unit is measuring your space and measuring your TV to ensure that the TV units you look at are going to do the job. Check that the type of storage of the TV units you look at will meet your storage needs and space requirements. Once you know the size and type of TV unit that will best suit your space, you can start considering the aesthetic to ensure it adds value to your living spaces.
Check the product listing under “product details” to find out what the assembly instructions are for each TV unit that we stock at Lounge Lovers. Yes, TV units can be used for a range of other purposes. They can be used as shelves or storage for books and other display items like collectibles or artwork, while TV units with concealed storage are perfect for storing DVDs, CDs, games and toys. Depending on the size of the TV unit, it can be used as a coffee table, or even as end-of-bed seat.
